So, for some time I’ve been happily knitting along on a sock. I was using collinette jitterbug (in the fire colourway?). Having taken a ridiculous amount of time to get through nearly one sock I stop to take a good hard look at what I’ve knitted. It dawns on me that I’m probably not going to have enough to knit two full socks. This particular yarn had a reputation for coming up a little short (they have since increased the yardage in a skein since I bought mine). So I’ve ripped back and am currently mulling over what I’m going to do with it. I absolutely love the colour – red is my favourite. But having checked various blogs / forums / ravelry it seems that there is probably under 300m of yarn in my skein. Having had a trawl through Ravelry, I spotted a beautiful simple little knit, the bactus scarf. So I cast on straight away. Pictures to follow soon.
Edited to add: I’ve just found a rather lovely modification to the bactus scarf. Now how am I supposed to decide? Perhaps I’ll do both, I have enough sock yarn floating about the flat, it will be a good way to use up stash.

What a great yarn. Love the modified scarf!
